Civil Litigation
Mark Harris is a Partner at Sanders Witherspoon LLP and heads the Civil Litigation Department.
This Department deals with many aspects of Civil Litigation funded in a variety of ways (see “Funding Civil Cases”).
Mr. Harris has been working as a lawyer since 1985 and has Degrees in both Chemistry and Business Studies and Law.
He qualified as a Solicitor in 1994 and joined Sanders Witherspoon in 1996. He became a Partner in Sanders Witherspoon in 2008 and subsequently a member of the newly-formed Limited Liability Partnership in 2009.
Mr. Harris undertook Criminal work and was a Duty Solicitor until 2009. This enabled him to have a close insight into the way in which the Criminal Justice system works in England. He also assisted many Clients with claims and complaints against the police.
Mark Harris did obtain for the firm a Specialist Quality Mark in Housing which enabled the firm to successfully represent their Clients with the benefit of public funding until the difficult decision to cease Civil Legal Aid work was taken.
A number of the cases that Sanders Witherspoon LLP have dealt with were so important that they had become leading cases in specific areas of Law including T.I.C.C. –v- Cosco (International Carriage of Goods), Ellis (R. –v- Chief Constable of Essex) (Human Rights), Ledger-Beadel -v- Peach (Trusts).
The Department and Mr. Harris have experience in resolving complex cases through Mediation and other forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution and have assisted Clients in minimising financial outlay and maximising their return.
The personal approach to Clients and their problems has ensured that Sanders Witherspoon LLP’s Clients have been undaunted by what could otherwise have been very worrying times.
