Death by Dangerous Driving

This is arguably the most serious road traffic offence and can be extremely difficult for the Crown Prosecution Service to secure a conviction, depending on the circumstances of the case.   To be involved in a road traffic collision resulting in death is, in itself, a devastating and frightening thing. The consequences of a conviction for this offence are likewise; generally resulting in a number of years imprisonment (a maximum of 14 years) and a disqualification from driving for a minimum of 12 months, with the disqualification continuing until an extended test has been passed.

If you find yourself in a situation where you could find yourself charged with an offence of this nature, it is very important that you seek legal advice at an early stage. We have lawyers with expertise in this area of law who can help you throughout the various stages of the prosecution process.

Cases of this nature always begin in the Magistrates Court. Depending on your financial circumstances you may be entitled to Legal Aid. If the case proceeds to the Crown Court you would automatically be entitled to Legal Aid.
